Camping, Dip Netting, and Salmon

Last week, Rick and I, Brooks' whole family and the 3 Torres boys ventured to Kenai to do some dip netting. This is what we found, miles and miles of dip netters! It looks like everyone else hear that the Sockeyes were in too!
We camped that night, in tents, did I tell you we slept in tents. Not my favorite way to camp, but you got to do what you got to do. We had 3 tents in our party of 12.
Master fire starter.
Just happy to be there.....
I told Rick, never again. No running water, no flushing toilet, and no soft bed, and it was a bit chilly! And he still wanted me to smile.... silly boy!
The whole gang on the beach. Beautiful sunny, but windy day!
They played on the beach for about 6 hours as we waited for the tide to come in.
And played.......
And played....
And played....... They all had a ball!
We waited and waited.....
They made castles and empires out of sand.....
And waited.....
And we waited and waited.....
And played..... and found sea shells, pretty rocks, and shrimp.
Yay, the tide was in and the first fish caught. Keegan was in charge of clubbing the fish, Kolby was in charge of cleaning them off and Kade was in charge of bleeding the gills. Great teamwork!
A true fisherman and outdoorsman at heart.....
The salmon was as big as Bladen.... his first fishing trip, and many more to come!
Hanging with Gramma!
The 5 oldest each holding a salmon. We only caught 11, but we had a great time! And that's what it is all about!Saturday, we cleaned, filleted and vacuumed packed the fish. And cleaned the beach sand from everything we took!
Kade learning to fillet to Uncle Brooks' standards!
The Master Filleter!
The final product, with memories to share for a life time.

Thanks for the Memories!!!
