While cleaning out our garages, we thought about having a garage sale, but thought we might not have enough "stuff" so our plans changed to donating what we made off of it to make care packages for our troops. We spread the word that if anyone had anything they wanted to donate to this yard sale, that we would be using the funds to help support our troops in Afghanistan.... (Where Rosie's husband is currently serving.) The donations were beyond our wildest expectations! To encourage buyers, we had everything $1.00 to $5.00 or donation.
We had so many people call and donate and support our yard sale. Some just came and made a $donation. We had tv's, bikes, candles, a lap top computer, clothes, games, fishing equipment, bed, rocking chair, a ton of baby items, toys, home decor, books and so much "good" stuff. There were 14 tables full of "stuff!" The pictures don't do it justice!
The girls helped make goodies that was donation only. They were all willing to help out!
It reminds me of "gather" it, and they will come. Now the next phase will be to buy and gather up the items to be shipped. It's all good!

This was awesome! Yay for us and yay for our military that will be getting the boxes. There are so many good people that we know that helped make this a success. They humble me!
